Adventure in Dairyland - Pages 7 and 8

d-5-1.JPG (22275 bytes)The picture at left shows the three of them keeping watch over the calf. It turned out the calf had a tummy-ache. Calves can easily get sick during their first few months, so they are as carefully fed and watched over as a newborn baby. d-5-3.JPG (18324 bytes)Linda and Sammy, at right, after all the excitement was over. Mr. McCandless backed the tractor out of the barn and told Sammy to climb aboard again, but Sammy wanted no part of the driver’s seat so Linda sat there.
d-5-2.JPG (14976 bytes)On the right is Sammy. He wanted his picture taken on a tractor. The motor was running and he accidentally bumped a lever. . . Zoom! Crash! I shouldn’t tattle, but he ploughed right through the barn doors. Luckily, he wasn’t hurt.
d-5-4.JPG (14486 bytes)At left is Romeo, the McCandless’ prize bull. He’s like a big bundle of dynamite, and just as dangerous. Luckily, there’s a way to control a bull - by a stout chain attached to the ring in its sensitive nose.
